In the 17th century, Enkhuizen was one of the most prosperous cities in the Netherlands. As a member of the VOC, the city gained power and influence. The rich history of Enkhuizen is still visible when you walk through the old town with many mansions, canals, churches, city walls and harbors.

Museums and places of interest

Enkhuizen has many museums, such as the Zuiderzee Museum (inside and outside), the Enkhuizer Almanak museum, the Flessenscheepjesmuseum.
And do you want to go out with (small) children? Then visit the Fairytale Wonderland.

Furthermore, three ferries depart from Enkhuizen: to Stavoren, to Medemblik and to Urk (depending on the season).

A day trip to Amsterdam and many more

Amsterdam, Haarlem, Utrecht, Leeuwarden, The Hague / Scheveningen.
To the North Sea coast, the Zaanse Schans, shopping in Bataviastad Fashion Outlet in Lelystad, all very easy to reach from Enkhuizen by train, car or even by bicycle.
Are you coming by plane? Schiphol is also only an hour away by car or train.
